Cory Blair is the solo project of Cory Seyler, a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Asbury Park, NJ, blending raw indie-rock storytelling with anthemic pop-leaning hooks.
Her sound is anchored by an uncompromising lyrical voice shaped by her formative years in New Jersey and a transformative stint living in Berlin's electronic landscape. Working alongside artist and producer Conor O'Brien (Villagers) on David Hedderman's debut LP Pulling at the Briars inspired her to begin recording her own music, and the result was her debut EP, Midheaven, out now via Posh Monk. The record features co-production from indie heavy hitters Luke Temple (Here We Go Magic, Adrianne Lenker) and Erik Kase Romero (The Front Bottoms), with lead single "Other Side" mixed by Grammy-nominated engineer Jorge Elbrecht (Japanese Breakfast, Sky Ferreira). The single went on to premiere with FLOOD Magazine.
“Asbury Park–based songwriter Cory Blair is sharing a new single today entitled ‘Other Side,’ an experimental pop cut built around some bleeps and bloops and bass lines that coalesce around her powerful voice. ‘I feel a little bit shaky / And a little bit stronger,’ Blair sings. Electronic drum fills and glowing guitar chords gives the song a retro—though never nostalgic—feel.” - Will Schube, FLOOD Magazine
